ENG: Today I wanted to get a manicure and instead of picking a color from the nail salon, I ended up buying something from my store. 

Revlon Top Speed nail polish in color 'Peachy' (405)

The polish is toluene and formaldehyde FREE... It dries really fast too. The brush is a medium size and applies the polish very smooth...

I think its a perfect shade for the summer, especially if you have a tan it is going to look awesome on your hands and feet.

Ürün formaldehyde ve toluene içermiyor. Fırçası çok kalın değil ve sürümü çok rahat. En güzel yanıda çok çabuk kuruyor olması.

Bu renk bence yaz için ideal bir renk. Özellikle biraz bronzlaştıktan sonra ellerde ve ayaklarda çok hoş duruyor. 

Revlon Türkiye'de satılmıyor sanıyorum. Biraz araştırdıktan sonra Flormar Supershine Oje numara 28 bu renge çok benziyor. Hemen hemen aynı sonucu alacağınızı düşünüyorum. 

Pür Minerals vs. Bare Escentuals

ENG: Thanks to Bare Escentuals, I hated mineral makeup as a makeup artist. Until I met with Pür Minerals.
I am in love with this mineral makeup line...

****What is the difference between Bare Escentuals and Pür Minerals?
Bare Escentual products are loose, Pür Minerals products are compact. The coverage is much better with Pür Minerals than it is with Bare Escentuals.
The pigments for eyeshadows are much more strong with Pür Minerals.
Bare Escentuals is actually a bit more pricey. And because it is loose trust me you are going to waste your product while applying. And seriously the Bare Escentuals foundation is BAREly there...

***My favorite Pür Minerals product is the 4-in-1 compact, mineral foundation. Actually it is more than a foundation. It is a concealer, a powder and a SPF 15 protection... Everything you need is in this little compact.

I bought my first compact on August and lasted me till last week. And let me tell you something, I use this product every single day.
Pür Minerals mineral makeup foundation does not contain harsh chemical dyes, alcohol, fragrance or preservatives. Has organic shea butter and vitamin E. It's a perfect everyday makeup that does not damage your skin. The whole line is good with every skin type. The compact can be used by anyone even if you have dry skin. It is also a perfect foundation for mature skins.

-The starter kit which comes with a small foundation of your shade, bronzer, marble powder and a chisel brush(looks like a kabuki brush) is retailed for $37

****İki markanın arasındaki fark nedir?
Bare Escentuals toz formunda ürünler içerirken, Pür Minerals sıkıştırılmış pudra, kompakt ürünlerle piyasadalar. Toz halinde olan ürünlerin sorunu bana göre şu; fondötenin neredeyse kapatıcılığı sıfır. Farın toz olması rengi güçsüz kılıyor. İstediğiniz rengi elde elebilmek için sür de sür yaniii... my 1st makeup tutorial (in Turkish)

ENG: It's been a while since I have written on my blog. Sorry for the delay guys ;)
Last week I grabbed my friend Maria Amato and taped my first makeup tutorial. Before explaining anything I would like to thank her for helping me out with adjusting the camera and making the whole thing so much fun... She is a great friend and has a beautiful face to apply makeup on.

***What look we did?
It was a daily look that completed her outfit and style. The application of the eye makeup was a little different than usual... I put the light shade eyeshadow all over the eyelid and went over with a second color shadow at the inner corner of the eyelids. This gave her eyes a little more definition. After than matched her skin color and highlighted her face.


I didn't have a camcorder and I am not the best with editing so the video is not the most professional video. But still I tried my best to deliver a good makeup lesson. Hope you have fun. Even if you don't understand the language :)

Geçen hafta arkadaşım Maria'nın makyajını yaptım ve çektim sizin için. Video Türkçe olduğu için çok açıklama yapmayacağım burdan ama umarım beğenirsiniz ve size bir yararı olur.
Kameram olmadığı için çok çok başarılı bir video olmadı ama 2. sefere daha başarılı bir çekim yapacağıma söz veriyorum...

New Product From 'Organix'

ENG: Today, I would like to share my thoughts about a hair product. 'Organix' Brazilian Keratin Therapy; flat iron spray!!! This is an awesome product for people who flat iron their hair. It has coconut oil and avocado oil to smooth the hair. Also keratin proteins to strengthen... The product is sulfate and sodium free... 

****I have wavy and frizzy hair by the way. It has to be controlled ;)) 

Anyways, after washing my hair I dried my hair completely and sprayed the product on one side. (took a pic too) It was straight in 5 min so quick and so smooth. It is not frizzy at all... My hair smells awesome by the way. 

The Brazilian Keratin Therapy line also has a shampoo, conditioner,serum and a 30 day hair treatment... The purpose of the line is to smooth out your hair and make it as straight as possible

TR: Yepyeni bir ürün hakkında yazmak istiyorum bugün; 'Organix Brazilian Keratin Therapy' saç düzleştirici sprey. Saç düzleştirici kullananlar için mükemmel bir ürün. Saçı zarar vermeden düzleştirmek için Hindistan Cevizi yağı ve Avokado yağı, güçlendirmek içinse keratin kullanmışlar... Ürün sülfat ve sodyum içermiyor. (bu iki içerik saça oldukça zararlı)

***Benim saçlarım dalgalı ve elektrikli. Eğer kontrol edemezsem yani ürün kullanmazsam oldukça çirkin görünebiliyor. 

Bugün bu ürünü ilk deneyişimdi. Saçımı yıkadıktan sonra iyice kuruttum. Saçımın yarısına spreyi sıktım ve düzleştiriciyle üstünden geçtim. Düzleşmesi 5 dakikamı bile almadı. Çok çabuk ve kolay oldu. Bazı ürünlerde olduğu gibi saçlarım elektriklenmedi ve düzlüğü bozulmadı. Ayrıca çok güzel kokuyor. 

Bu ürünün aynı zamanda şampuanı, saç kremi, serumu ve 30 günlük saç düzleştirici seti var. Amerika'da $8.99 satın alınabiliyor. Türkiye fiyatını bilmiyorum ama MEDKO KOZMETİK tarafından distribitörlüğü yapılıyor. Satış noktalarını linke tıklayarak websitelerinden bulabilirsiniz...

I have an ELF in my kit...

ENG: Last week I did a little online shopping from ELF Cosmetics.

I've never used the line before except their mascara+brow wand; which is a MUST to have in your makeup bag/makeup kit.

**Do I like it? YES. 

First of all almost everything in the line is $1. So it is a YES to the price. Of course it is not the best quality. But for $1 what was I expecting anyway. I think it is good to have it in my professional kit. 

Today, I'm going to do my makeup with this line and I'm going to share my thoughts about how I felt about the products and how long they lasted. 

***What did I purchase?????

- 3 nail polishes (my new obsession) Dark Navy, Smoky Brown, Dark Glitter Purple. All the nail polishes are Toluene, Formaldehyde, and Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP) FREE!! (3 chemicals that damages our nails. )

**I'm not in love with the nail polishes because of three reasons; the brush is very thick, which makes the application hard, the handle is big which makes it hard to control while application and the colors are not exactly what I expected. Especially the Dark Glitter Purple is not really a purple color and I really don't see any glitter!!! The only thing that I really LOVE about the nail polishes is that they really do dry very quick. 



-Mineral eyeshadow Primer! I usually don't use primers. Not all the time. But today tried it and really didn't see a difference. I mean at the end of the day the crease color looked good but over my eyelid there was really no makeup left.

-I got 3 brushes. They look good at least they don't look like cheap brushes. Again they are a dollar. But they also have brushes that are a bit more expensive.
***Today I used the ELF brushes to apply my makeup. All over my eyelid I used the 'Eyeshadow "C" brush'. It is a very nice brush to put on eyeshadow and easy to control. Then I applied the second color over my crease and the outer corner of the lids and blended it in with the 'Contour Brush'. It is a great brush. Not much different than expensive brushes. :)  And used the 'Small Smudge Brush' to smudge my eye pencil. It was really easy...

-Endless Eyes Pro Eyeshadow Palette which comes in 100 different colors and it's only $10. It's a great deal. Love this palette. The colors are amazing. It has almost every color that I would like to have in my kit. The pigments are not bad not so strong but again for the price, they are pretty good. 
***I used 3 different colors today. When all over my eyelid with a champagne color, and put a brown color at the outer corner and blended in. Then used a red on my crease/contour area. The champagne and the brown were gone by the end of the day. The RED color; which I can't call it a red because every single person commented on my PINK:) , stayed on pretty good. 


-All Over Color Stick in Toasted... Not very impressed with this one too. I used it on my cheekbones with my blush, didn't really show. I'm gonna try it all by itself tomorrow since its colored :) 


And here comes the BEST part of this story. It was FREE shipping and I received it in 5 business days.

TR: Geçen hafta ELF Kozmetik'ten online alışveriş yaptım. Dana önce rimel fırçası(kaş fırçası) dışında bu firmadan hiç ürün denemedim. Herşeyin bir ilki vardır değil mi? 


***Beğendim mi? EVET.
Bu firmada satılan hemen hemen her ürün 1$. Fiyat süper tabi ama kalite çok çok iyi değil. Ama yinede beklediğimden daha iyi çıktılar. En azından profesyonel makyaj çantamda bulunabilecek kalitedeler. :)))
Bugün makyajımı aldığım ürünleri kullanarak yapıcam ve ürünlerin kullanımı ve kalıcılığı hakkında yorumlarımı, düşüncelerimi paylaşıcam.


***Neler aldım???
-3 tane oje; koyu mavi (lacivert), küllü kahverengi (griye çalan bir renk) ve simli koyu mor. Bütün ojeler yine 1$ ve Toluene, Formaldehyde, Dibutyl Phthalate (DBP) içermiyorlar. (Tırnaklara ciddi derecede zarar veren 3 kimyasal madde)
*** Ojelere pekte bayıldığımı söyleyemem. Fırçası çok kalın bu yüzden ojeyi sürmek biraz zorlaşıyor. Sapı bıraz fazla kalın, buda oje sürerken kontrolü zorlaştırıyor ve en önemlisi de ojelerin renkleri pek beklediğim gibi çıkmadılar. Özelliklede simli koyu mor hiç mor gibi durmuyor (siyaha kaçan bir renk çıktı) ve sim diye birşey göremiyorum ben. Bu ojelerin tek sevdiğim yanı çok çabuk kuruyor olamaları. 


- Mineral far bazı. Normalde kendim pek kullanmıyorum zaten ama denemek amaçlı bugün sürdüm ve pekte bir farklılık görmedim. Göz çukuruna sürdüğüm renk günün sonuna kadar durdu ama göz kapağımın üzerinde hiçbirşey kalmadı. 


-3 tane fırça aldım. Yine 1 dolara hiçte fena olmadıklarına değinmek istiyorum. Hiç ucuz görünmüyorlar.  
*** (fırçaların isimlerini ingilizce yazıcam çünkü türkçelerini bulamıyorum malesef) Eyeshadow "C" Brush, bu fırça ile bütün göz kapağımı boyadım. İnanılmaz memnun kaldım bu fırçadan; tutuşu çok rahat, kontrolü sağlamak ve farı sürmek çok kolay. Contour Brush ile ikinci rengi göz çukuruma ve göz kapağımın dış kenarına sürdüm ve yaydım. Çok rahat bir aplikasyon oldu. En son olarakta Smudge Brush ile gözümün üzerine sürdüğüm siyah göz kalemini iyice dağıttım. Fırçalarımdan çok çok memnunummm :)))) Pahalı fırçalardan pekte bir farkları yok. 


-100 renkten oluşan far paleti aldım. Sadece 10 dolar. Hemen hemen ihtiyacım olan her renk var. Pigmentleri çok çok iyi değil. Bazı renklerde asıl rengi elde edebilmek için bir kaç kere üzerinden geçmek gerekiyor ama yinede bu fiyata ŞAHANE bence...
*** Makyajımda 3 renk kullandım. Göz kapağıma açık bir renk(şampanya), gözün üst dış köşesine kahverengi ve göz çukuruma kırmızı renk sürdüm. Günün sonunda şampanya renginden ve kahverengiden eser kalmamıştı ama kırmızı hala duruyordu. Gerçi KIRMIZI diyemiycem çünkü makyajımı gören herkes PEMBE'nin bana çok yakıştığını söyleyip durdu :)))


-Toasted isimli birde krem stik aldım. Kahverengiye yakın bir renk. Aydınlatma, yüze parlaklık/ışıltı verme amaçlı bir ürün. Bende elmacıklarıma(allık altına), alnıma ve burnumun üzerinde sürdüm. Çok beğendiğimi söyleyemeyeceğim!! 1 saat sonra pek birşey kalmamıştı yüzümde...

"To Love"... Stage Makeup

ENG :  One of the best jobs for a makeup artist is doing a play, a showcase... At least for me... 
It is so fun to share the experience with the crew, share the excitement, and do makeup for many faces...


As a makeup artist I have done many shows and plays since 2008 and last Friday (January 28) I worked at the play "To Love", which was Set in the mid 1920s on one of the islands of Istanbul, Hermine, a beautiful Armenian girl, hears that Ataturk will be coming to town and she tries everything in her power to see him.. 
Anyways... Back to the topic :))

On this show most of the actors had to look as natural as possible. But still you have to apply a lot of makeup. Only with 'Nadalia' (one of the actors), I had to do the 1920s look which is mainly black eyeliner with a tail and red lips and thin eyebrows :)

***one little tip with Nadalia's makeup. Since she was wearing bright red lipstick we went over with a translucent powder to set the lipstick so it didn't smudge all over when she was on stage. 

A little information about stage makeup?? YEAHHH :)

Stage makeup is a lot different than your everyday makeup or tv/film makeup. You have to know how to apply the makeup that is going to be worn on stage under the intense lighting. The light actually washes out the makeup so here are some tips and basics for stage makeup;


-while applying the base; meaning the foundation, it has to be at least 1 or 2 shades darker than the persons actual skin tone.
-concealer has to be the same way. the shade has to be darker. a light shade concealer will make under eyes look hollow. Again because of the lighting.
-it has to be contoured under the cheek bones, the jaw line, under the chin and the sides of the nose. Contouring is going to help to define the face and bring out the bone structure of the actor while on stage.
-also if there is limited time, instead of contouring, it could be highlighted. Highlighting over the cheekbones, forehead and nose is going to help you save time and get the same effect with contouring.
***I use cream foundation or bronzer/powder to contour and usually liquid or cream for highlight.

-after applying foundation and concealer, powder (preferably translucent) has to be applied. The oil in the liquid or creme makeup will look very shiny on stage. So powder is a MUST!!
-a lot of blush has to be applied. When I say a lot, I mean a lot.
-for me blending the eye makeup is NOT a MUST. of course still it has to be applied professionally but, really, except backstage crew no one is going to see how great you did with blending.
-but you have to make the eyes POP, make them look big and kind a with an almond shape.
**applying white eyeliner on the inner line will make your eyes bigger
-for me there are no rules for the lips. it depends on the look.

TR:  Bana göre makyöz olmanın en güzel taraflarından biriside sahne makyajıyla uğraşmak. Oyuncularla ve ekiple beraber aynı heyecanı paylaşmak, onlarla beraber çalışmak gerçekten çok çok zevkli.


2008 senesinden bu yana bir kaç tiyatro'da ve show'da makyaj yaptım. Geçtiğimiz cuma akşamı (28 Ocak) New York'ta "To Love" oyununda makyajları yaptım. Oyun 1920 yıllarında Büyükada'da geçiyor. Güzeller güzeli Ermeni Kızı Hermine, Atatürk'ün İstanbul'a geleceğini duyunca, O'nu görmek için elinden geleni yapıyor.


Oyundaki çoğu oyuncuyu olabildiğince doğal göstermeye çalıştım. Rolleri gereği çok hafif makyaj uygulandı. Birtek 'Nadalia'nın makyajı 1920lerin modası olan siyah kuyruklu gözkalemi, kırmızı ruj ve ince kaşlarla diğerlerinden daha farklı ve canlıydı. 
**ufak bir tüyo Nadalia'nın makyajında ruj dağılmasın diye üzerinden pudra ile geçtim. Daha uzun süre kalmasını da sağlıyor.

Sahne makyajı bildiğimiz günlük makyaj yada televizyon/film makayajından biraz daha farklı. Işıklandırma çok güçlü olduğu için makyajın olduğundan daha az görünmesine neden oluyor. Bu yüzden çok daha ağır ve koyu bir makyaj uygulanmak zorunda. Makyaj uygulamasındaki basamaklardan bahsedelim...
-Fondoten oyuncunun asıl cilt renginin 1 yada 2 ton daha koyusu olmalıdır.
-Göz altı kapatıcısı da aynı şekilde uygulanmalıdır. Açık renk kapatıcı ile kapatılan göz altları ışıklandırmanın yaratacağı gölgelenmeyle beraber göz altlarını çökük gösterecektir.
-Yüzü kontürlemek (yanak çukurları, çene altı ve burun) oyuncunun yüz hatlarını ve kemik yapısını daha çok ortaya çıkarıcaktır.
-Eğer vakit sıkıntısı varsa ki tiyatroda genelde her zaman oluyor, kontürlemek yerinde yüzü aydınlatıyorum.
**Kontürleme uygulamasında genelde krem bazlı fondoten yada pudra kullanıyorum. Aydınlatma yaparken tercihim likit ve crem bazlı ürünler.

-Bütün bazı bitirdikten sonra makyajın üstünden mutlaka pudra ile geçiyorum. Ürünlerin içerisindeki yağın ışık altında parlamasını önlemek için.
-Allık sürerken normal oranın 3 4 katı fazlasını sürmek gerekli.
-Göz makyajında çok ince eleyip sık dokumuyorum. Yinede profesyonel olarak yapıyorum göz makyajını tabii ama tam dağıtmak için vakit harcamıyorum. Zaten seyircinin göz makyajının küçük detaylarını görmesi imkansız.
-Gözlerde önemli olan onları ön plana çıkarabilmek ve büyük göstermek.
**Gözün iç kısmına beyaz kalem çekilmesi, büyük görünmesini sağlayacaktır.
-Bence zaten dudak rengi kostüme, tüm makyaja bağlı olarak seçilmelidir.
